A longtime sailor, Michael Locker MD developed a love for the water while attending summer camp as a child. Over the course of several summers, Michael Locker MD honed his skills from beginner to advanced sailor rapidly. Michael Locker MD gained experience on smaller boats, such as the single-sailed Minifish. Michael Locker MD also began to learn how to handle multi-sailed, larger boats during camping excursions. Subsequent to his summer experiences at camp, Michael Locker MD bought his own small boat, a Snark. Although it was a flimsy craft, Michael Locker MD was able to take it along on family trips and quickly master its quirks. Michael Locker fondly remembers the freedom single-handed sailing brought. Michael Locker MD has also crewed for others on larger craft, including in regattas. During one race, Michael Locker MD and his captain took first place. In the future, Michael Locker MD intends to revisit his sailing skills by learning how to skipper larger craft. He hopes to purchase a larger sailboat someday. Michael Locker MD enjoys watching the America’s Cup Races. Furthermore, Michael Locker MD also teaches sailing theory to others who are interested.
