Summary:

Steve Cader’s career of over 30 years of dedicated public service as a California peace officer sets him apart in the law enforcement community. After distinguished tenures as Lieutenant and Captain, Steve Cader was named Atherton’s Chief of Police in 1995, a post he held for five years. Steve Cader’s time as Chief of Police is marked by continuous successes and impressive achievements. Expanding the concept of community policing to schools, Steve Cader implemented a High School Resource officer program that significantly decreased the number of reported incidents among youth. Furthermore, Steve Cader work to achieve a safer community by upgrading the police Communications equipment, revising and reinstituting the general orders manual, and implementing the “TRAK” child abduction program. After retiring from his position as Chief of Police, Steve Cader worked briefly in the private sector for Progressive Housing, Inc. Under Steve Cader’s leadership, Progressive Housing’s yearly gross income more than doubled. In 2004, Steve Cader began work with the Department of Homeland Security, serving as Director of Emergency Service Planning. As part of the BioWatch program, Steve Cader works with a company that takes daily air samples from the largest cities in the United States and analyzes their compositions for biotoxins. Having received copious training from the Department of Homeland Security on how to deal with bioterrorism, suicide bombings, and incident management, Steve Cader now teaches courses on the subjects to other law enforcement personnel. Currently, Steve Cader continues his work with the Department of Homeland Security, implementing interoperability emergency communication and notification programs between state and federal agencies. Steve Cader also continues to serve as a California peace officer, working part-time with the California State Fair Police Department.
