Joshua Levinberg grew up in Tel Aviv, one of Israel’s largest cities. He chose to stay in Tel Aviv when it came to deciding which university to attend and majored in electrical engineering and electronics, a field he was and continues to be passionate about, and which would guide his future choices in career and investment.
Entrepreneurial Undertakings
Perhaps one of Levinberg’s greatest achievements was the co-founding, along with his brother Amiram, Yoel Gat, Shlomo Tirosh and Gideon Kaplan, of Gilat Satellite Networks over 20 years ago. Six years after its establishment, the company went public (NASDAQ: GILT), and today it is a leading global provider of satellite network solutions, with communication service providers making up the majority of its clientele.
Besides the establishment of Gilat, Levinberg has been involved in the foundation of several companies, both in an active role and as an investor. In 2003, he founded JAL Ventures, which took an interest in several companies, including: Matan Digital Printers, Xsight Systems, Kargal, Erayo.com, DenTack, GoNetworks and Agropeace Bio Ltd. Joshua is also the founder of Global Village Telecom (GVT), which provides telecommunications and Internet solutions for customers in Brazil, and has also held the chairman position at Satlynx SA (GE Satcom today) which provides solutions for the satellite communications market.
Current Position
Today, Levinberg serves as the Senior Advisor for Business Development and Corporate Strategy of Gilat Satellite Networks, while maintaining a strong focus on other current initiatives, including JAL Ventures Ltd.
